*Sigh* The last few days have been hard work! I’ve spent some time at the top of the sugar-coaster, and some right at the bottom. I’ve worked hard at trying to avoid the oscillations… and failed. Days like these make me want to just have a break, which is where I got the following idea: a diabetes-sitter.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but this week, I just want to give someone all my meters, prickers, needles and pens and have them in charge. No need for me to think about all the factors affecting my blood glucose, food and insulin. For a few days, I’ll happily hand over finger tips and belly flab, but I just don’t want to have to THINK!
Things aren’t helped by the fact I’m on the road today and tomorrow, and picking up our new house keys later in the week! I guess for now, I’ll get my chin up and carry on, but if you would like to apply to “baby-sit” my Type 1 Diabetes (it’s a little well-behaved angel
which needs feeding 4 times a day with insulin), please leave a short CV outlining your skills for the job, together with 2 references, in the comments section.
Until next time,
The … Diabetic
I know how you feel, I am struggling at the moment with my blood sugars and the last few days I have got to the stage where I just think “It’s not getting any better so I’ll eat what i want (within reason – because I’m an ultimate coward). Hope you feel better soon
Yes, all “holidays” should be within reason
but hopefully you’ll feel a little revived after?
I decided not to resist my friend’s suggestion of Wagamama for dinner & seem to accidentally have guessed right! This D-business makes no sense!
Thanks for your comment!

Poor you. It must get really tiring sometimes, always having to think and calculate what you are eating. Even when you try so hard sometimes your body won’t play along. Hopefully your sugars will settle when you have your house keys and can relax!
Thanks, sometimes it just wears you down a little. Just the frustrations of life, but always nice to be able to voice them out loud. I’m doing a little better as I’m doing some pattern investigations.
Cheers,
The … Diabetic
Glad you are having a better day.
